This brings us to the end of the three-part series—but hopefully not to the end of my work with the band. Phish has been one of my all-time favorite clients, and I’m grateful for every chance to contribute. To wrap things up, here are a few more merch designs and a couple of poster highlights. Thanks for reading!

2022 - The Ice Cream Monster - Alpine Valley, WI

Being in the dairy capital, we felt like this monster was a good move. The monster is a wild, psychedelic fusion of myth, mischief, and melty madness, perfectly channeling the band’s unpredictable energy. The central deity-like figure, with multiple arms, wings, and all-seeing eyes, exudes a sense of chaotic divinity—equal parts trickster and cosmic overseer. Holding dripping, oversized soft-serve cones like ritualistic torches, the character is clearly ready for the show.

2022 - Phish Phases Poster - Dick’s Colorado Run

What happens in nature when we aren’t watching? Bears turn trees into clouds, trees playing records on an old stump, with the phases of the moon for each night of the four night run. To commemorate these shows, we created the “Phish Phases” poster, which features this design incorporating the moon phases corresponding to each night’s performance. The artwork reflects the natural phenomena that occur when unobserved, aligning with the band’s improvisational spirit. Side note - I had over 30 of my AP prints go “missing” through the USPS and was never able to recoporate any of the loss revenue - thanks USPS.

2023 Octopus - Spring Tour

Knowing that there were eight shows on summer tour, the octopus felt like the correct representation. We wanted him to flow and feel like he was hiding out in the seaweed underwater. Of course it has three eyes as well. Like Phish itself, this piece is intricate yet organic, structured yet boundless.

2023 - The Water Phoenix -  Flood Relief Benefit Poster - Saratoga Springs, NY

Phish stepped right in to help the good people of Vermont after the flood with two benefit shows. We provided merch and poster designs. We tried to convey a positive, uplifting design that echoed what Phish was doing. They held two benefit concerts at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, raising over $3.5 million for flood recovery efforts in Vermont and Upstate New York.

2024 - The Mask - NY run in MSG

created this one for the MSG run. The ask was for a design with heavy art deco vibes. During this set, they played “Pillow Jets,” a song inspired by Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu’s sculptures. The stage was adorned with billowing white sails and fabric coils that rose and fell over the crowd, creating dynamic visual effects. Performers dressed in flowing yellow robes and golden masks added to the mystical atmosphere, culminating in this massive golden mask assembling above the stage as the clock struck midnight.

2022 - Alligators in Mexico - Riviera Maya, Mexico

At the center stands a towering palm tree, its trunk inscribed with custom lettering spelling out Riviera Maya—almost like an ancient totem or a sacred monument to the event itself. The lush foliage and island setting evoke themes of paradise, renewal, and immersion in nature, mirroring the deep, flowing jams that characterize these destination shows.Flanking the island are two massive alligators, their curved bodies forming a symmetrical, almost yin-yang-like balance. Alligators in Mayan mythology symbolize the connection between land and water, primal power, and the flow of time—fitting for a multi-night Phish run. Their open jaws house two small birds engaged in a call-and-response, a nod to the symbiotic relationships in nature.
